Day 2 Subject: [firstname]: Here's the key to IM success Hey [firstname], As I said in yesterday's e-mail, choosing the right niche is the key to success in IM. So what is a niche? A niche is IM-speak for a market, or more specifically, the section of the market you sell to. That's what makes finding the right niche so important. Actually, there's no such thing as the “right” niche, just the right niche for you! How do you find the right niche for you? There are two schools of thought on this… The first is that you should draw up a list of topics you find interesting, then drill down to see if there is money to be made in that niche. This is good if you plan on creating your own products, or providing a service like coaching. If you're already an expert, that gives you a head-start over other newbies (IM-speak for newcomer). The downside is that some of these niches are so small, there just isn't enough business to go round. The other school of thought is to just find niches that pay the most. Most of these are so-called “evergreen” niches – things like weight loss, dog training, stock market trading, and so on. These niches can be highly lucrative, but can be overcrowded and competitive.
