Day 3 Subject: What type of IM business do you want, [firstname]? Hi [firstname], What TYPE of online business do you want? The reason I ask is there are online businesses and online businesses ;-). A lot of people say “I want to get into Internet marketing”, but IM is a pretty generic term. It just means you sell stuff over the Internet. The thing is: You can sell pretty much ANYTHING over the 'net – you just need to work out WHAT you want to sell. For example there's: Info products (books, e-books, videos etc.) Software and apps. Physical products (if you can touch it, you can sell it online) Services - from high-end business consulting, to sending e-mails, and everything in between Selling on eBay Selling on Amazon Website design The list goes on and on... Perhaps you have a “bricks and mortar” store and want to add an online element to it. That would fall under the umbrella of Internet marketing, too. Every type of online business requires a different approach. For example, if you're going to sell information products, you'll have to factor in things like product creation, recruiting affiliates, selling affiliate products in addition to your own, product distribution (digital, physical or both?), and so on. If, on the other hand, you plan on opening an eBay shop, you'll need to look into things like product acquisition or manufacturing, shipping, customs charges, dropshipping, storage and suchlike. So the TYPE of IM business model you're going to need to follow, will vary depending on the type on online business you decide to set up. As you've probably gathered by now this is quite a complicated subject, and not one I can do justice to in a single e-mail. To help you out, I've put together a comprehensive guide to this subject which you can download from here [LINK TO SALES PAGE]. Talk soon, [Your Name] PS. There are some things that all IM businesses need, though. I'll explain more tomorrow.
