Day 5 Subject: Write again, [firstname] Hey [firstname], You may be perplexed by the subject of today's e-mail, after all, I said yesterday that I was going to talk about YouTube traffic. Indeed I am… You see, you can recycle the articles you've used on guest posts as YouTube videos – BUT you must rewrite them first. A good idea is a good idea, and once you've shown there is some interest in it (from having it be a guest post) you can be sure there is going to be further interest elsewhere, and you can reach another audience via YouTube. The thing is, though… That guest post will most likely get indexed by Google, and they HATE duplicate content. Once that article has been indexed, all further instances of it will probably be ignored. Google owns YouTube, so draw your own conclusions here! Once you've rewritten that article so it's substantially different, it's less likely to be considered duplicate content and there's a good chance both the article and the video will show up in the search engine ranking pages (SERPS). Another reason for rewriting the article is a more practical one. Stuff that's written to be read aloud – like in a video – is different from stuff that's meant to be read silently. For starters the sentences tend to be shorter with more commas, as there's a limit to what you can say in a single breath. You'll need to write it all out because the script can be uploaded as a text file to help with closed captioning for the hard of hearing, AND to boost search engine optimization (SEO) for the video. Keywords are just as important here as they are on the guest post article itself, so bear that in mind. More tomorrow! Warmly, [Your Name] PS.
